Director:
Scott Meeson
Scott Meeson has been involved with the game of basketball as a player,
and coach for twenty years.
His playing days were cut short when he suffered a back injury in 1985,
and it is then when he got very interested in coaching. Since then he
has coached at all levels, both men and women, and last year finished
a seven-year stint as coach of the Queen's University Golden Gaels men's
team.
During his time at Queen's, coach Meeson developed the Gaels into a
highly competitive team and led Queen's to the OUA east final in 2000,
knocking off the nationally ranked Ryerson Rams in the semis. His teams
were always fundamentally sound, executed extremely well and were outsized
on a continual basis.
Prior to his time at Queen's, Meeson coached at the highschool and club
level in Toronto, Guelph, Oshawa, and British Columbia as a university
student and teacher. He has worked camps across Canada and the United
States and given countless clinics to high school, club and summer camp
programs. He is a level 3 certified coach and course conductor with
the NCCP, as well as a certified teacher.
Scott's wife, Kim, is a three time OFSAA gold winning basketball coach
at St.Mary Catholic School in Brockville. They reside in Brockville
with their three children, Alexa, Mark and Jessica.
